BioAccess introduces new Disposable Traction Bow to enhance its Traction Pin Kits and Meet the Needs of Orthopedic Surgeons

BioAccess has introduced it novel Disposable Traction Bow (DTB). The new traction equipment will aid orthopedic physicians using the Traction Pin Kits (TPK) distributed by BioAccess.

The Disposable Traction Bow (DTB) allows BioAccess to supply a needed and novel component to the orthopedic surgeon for temporary skeletal traction done in trauma centers. The product will enhance the Traction Pin Kits, allowing the physician to have all items needed for temporary traction pinning in the Kit. Previously, physicians were required to loan this piece of traction equipment from other areas of the hospital and the access and quality of the components presented delays and problems for the physicians.

The design of the Disposable Traction Bow is superior to older traction bows (Steinmann pin bow or Bohler bow). The Disposable Traction Bow is flexible allowing easy application to the traction pin and fits all sizes.

The Traction Pin Kit product has continued to please orthopedic surgeons and this added traction equipment component will enhance its acceptance for temporary skeletal traction in Level I and Level II trauma centers.

The Traction Pin Kits contains the BioAccess technology platform Small Bone Tool which is an attractive disposable surgical drill (or surgical handpiece), in combination with various components needed for temporary traction pin placement. Prior to the introduction of the Small Bone Tool and Traction Pin Kits, physicians were required to loan and transport the surgical drills or manual drills from other departments. Additionally, the manual drills are not clinically acceptable to orthopedic physicians. The Small Bone Tool is a cost effective and convenient surgical drill for use both inside the operating room and in a trauma room or emergency room.
