BioAccess recently exhibited at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), held in Chicago, March 22-26.
Orthopedic surgeons visited the centrally located BioAccess booth (10' x 20'). This was the second consecutive year BioAccess has exhibited at the AAOS and the company looks forward to next year in San Diego CA in addition to other specialty orthopedic societies during the year.
The BioAccess Traction Pin Kit (TPK) and Small Bone Tool (SBT) were highlighted at the meeting. The Traction Pin Kit is distributed by BioAccess and contains the BioAccess platform technology, disposable power tool. The disposable surgical drill and novel design brings a powered surgical drill to orthopedic surgeons outside the traditional operating room setting and into the Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers (emergency department/trauma room). The BioAccess TPK brings convenience and cost savings to several departments within the Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers.
"BioAccess was proud of the enthusiastic reception from orthopedic surgeons at the AAOS," stated Robert Chapolini, MD, President. "The product interest was keen for the BioAccess Traction Pin Kits along with interest in the BioAccess Small Bone Tool. Our plans are to continue an elevated support of the Traction Pin Kit for use in the trauma centers. In speaking with current users of the BioAccess Traction Pin Kit, surgeons are finding the TPK to be a significant improvement and time saver over their previous procedures. Additionally, we are continuing to support revitalized interest in the BioAccess Bone Marrow Collection System and the use of bone marrow and stem cells in a variety of orthopedic treatments such as bone grafts and non-unions."
